Me & Little Miss A has always had a soft spot for the British Museum: it’s where Little Miss A took her first steps as a chubby baby. As a threesome, they would spend rainy afternoons in the Great Court while Little Miss A practised her walking; and then her and The Captain would explore a new collection while Little Miss A slept in her pram (“Bliss”).

With Little Miss A in mind, I decided to tackle the British Museum – with Blondie, Bonny and their cousin (6 years old) in town (see photographic evidence below!):

I was pleasantly surprised to see how much the kids actually loved it (though staying for just over an hour may have influenced this). We chose the Egyptian and Mummies section. I was a bit stressed when we came across an actual corpse but the kids didn’t seem to notice – phew! Everyone seem to find a topic of interest – Blondie loved looking at the jewels – and had loads of questions. My mother who has some difficulty walking was thrilled to have the free use of a wheelchair; available at the museum entrance.

If you are looking for what to do with your kids – of all ages – the British Museum is free (donations are accepted) and open to the public daily from 10:00 to 17:30.
