If your husband is in a bad mood and frustrated with the children, then send him to the RAF museum in Hendon!
Seriously, the RAF museum is all about boys, little ones and older ones.
They have an extraordinary collection of planes and planes engines, and real bombs in amazingly huge hangars. You could spend the whole day in there, watching and reading about all the planes, watching movies showing the planes in action, and even going on a simulator. We did not do that though as Jed was too short and Mellow was a bit too scared, but The Brain really tried to convince Mellow so HE could do it.
There is a lot of space for the younger ones to run around, and then to finish the tour: the aeronauts interactive centre. It’s full of little scientific experiences, like wind blowing, aircraft and hand glider control, and the best of all, drop the packet from a plane onto a small patch on ground – or on your brother’s head!
It was a success and the boys – including The Brain- definitely want to go again. The Brain came back really cheerful and we had a good rest of the day!
Open every day, free entrance. Large parking (pay and display). North London, a few minutes from Junction 4 on the M1.
Worth a try.
